Netherlands coach: We are ready to face Morocco.
Ronald Koeman, the head coach of the Netherlands national team, confirmed that his team had no difficulty overcoming the Tunisian national team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while also noting that the goal is to move forward in the tournament.
The Dutch national team achieved a valuable victory of 3-1 over Tunisia on Thursday evening local time, in the third (and final) round of the group stage in Group F of the World Cup, currently being held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The Dutch team, which dreams of winning the World Cup for the first time in its history, increased its points to 7 at the top of the group standings, and will face Morocco, the runner-up of Group C, in a fiery match in the Round of 32 in Monterrey, Mexico.
In Kansas City, the first goal for the Netherlands came through an own goal, as Elias Skhiri, a Tunisian player, scored an early own goal in the third minute, before Brian Brobbey added the second goal in the seventh minute.
Hazem El-Mestouri reduced the deficit by scoring a goal for Tunisia in the 54th minute, but Jan Paul van Hecke added the third goal for the Netherlands in the 62nd minute.
Koeman said in media statements after the match: “We achieved a comfortable victory over the Tunisian team. We got the three points without receiving any yellow cards or suffering injuries or suspensions.”
The Dutch coach added: “We performed well, scored three goals, and secured the top spot in the group for ourselves.”
Koeman addressed the upcoming match against Morocco, stating: “We know they are a strong team with outstanding players, but we are also a tough team, ready for the challenge and looking forward to it, and our goal is to continue our journey in the World Cup.”
