Moroccan athletics triumphs in Egypt.
Morocco won the title of the third Arab Athletics Championship for under 23 years, which took place from June 20 to 24 in the city of Ismailia, Egypt, on the track of the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, with the participation of 14 countries.
The national team champions succeeded in clinching the Arab Athletics Championship title after winning 32 various medals, divided into 12 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals.
In the men's competitions, Morocco won a total of 11 medals (6 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze), while in the women's competitions, the national team achieved 21 medals divided into (6 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze).
The Moroccan team outperformed its Egyptian counterpart and topped the overall ranking of the championship, after winning 12 gold medals, compared to 11 gold medals for the Egyptian team.
The Egyptian team came in second place with a total of 36 various medals (11 gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze). The teams from Algeria and Tunisia shared third place in the championship after each winning 13 medals, divided into (6 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals).
During the same period, the city of Ismailia also hosted the first edition of the Arab Athletics Championship for under 16 years, in which the Moroccan team did not participate, and the title was won by the Egyptian team after winning 50 various medals (16 gold, 16 silver, and 18 bronze).
