Fes defeats Wydad in Casablanca.
Wydad Casablanca lost a valuable match at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, as they were defeated by their visitors, FUS Rabat, with a score of one goal to nil, today Thursday, in the match that took place as part of the 27th round of the professional football league.
The Fassi team entered the match in the best possible way, as Sofiane Benjedida managed to score the only goal of the match in the fourth minute, following a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, leaving the Wydad goalkeeper with no chance.
The "Red team" sought to come back in the match and had a golden opportunity to equalize in the 32nd minute from the penalty spot, but Nourredine Amrabat failed to convert it into a goal, keeping the advantage in favor of the visitors.
During the second half, Wydad intensified their attacking attempts in search of leveling the score, while FUS Rabat maintained their defensive solidity and relied on quick counterattacks. The home team suffered a painful blow in the 81st minute when one of their players was sent off, complicating their task in the final minutes.
FUS Rabat maintained their lead until the final whistle, achieving an important victory that raised their points total to 52, placing them in second position, reducing the gap to just one point behind the leaders, Royal Army, who drew against Nahdat Berkane with a score of two goals each in a strong match in the same round.
On the other hand, Wydad Casablanca's points total remained at 43 in fifth place, missing the opportunity to get closer to the top positions and continuing to lose points in a crucial phase of the season.
