Sabri: The achievements of Moroccan football are the result of royal vision and collective efforts.
Hicham Sabri, the Secretary of State responsible for employment and a member of the political bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party, stated that the successes achieved by Moroccan football in recent years cannot be reduced to a single person, regardless of their status or the extent of their contribution. This was his first comment on the controversy surrounding a party official's remarks about the possibility of attracting Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, to the party.
Sabri explained, during his appearance on the "Working Session" program broadcast by the Hespress electronic newspaper, that Fouzi Lekjaa holds several administrative, governmental, and sports responsibilities. However, what has been achieved in the football field transcends individuals and reflects the result of a comprehensive strategic vision that various state institutions and stakeholders have engaged in.
The same government official confirmed that the achievements Morocco has accumulated in football came within the framework of royal directives related to the development of the sports sector, and thanks to the contributions of various stakeholders, both inside and outside the stadiums. He emphasized that what has been accomplished represents "an achievement for all Moroccans," and not for an individual or a specific entity.
The speaker added that the development witnessed in national football extends to multiple areas, including infrastructure, sports marketing, and tourism, urban, and cultural development. He pointed out that this national project has contributed to enhancing Morocco's image and its international radiance.
In discussing the controversy surrounding the circulation of news about attracting Lekjaa to the Authenticity and Modernity Party, Sabri avoided directly addressing names but stressed that it is the essence of political parties to expand their bases and attract talents and competencies capable of contributing to political work and serving the public good.
