Al-Ainawi tends to play with FC Barcelona.
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported statements from Younes Al-Ainawi, the father of Moroccan international Nail Al-Ainawi, during an interview he conducted with the French website "RMC," in which he mentioned that his son has a special love for FC Barcelona and that he would be extremely happy if given the opportunity to wear the jersey of the Catalan club in the future.
Younes Al-Ainawi, a former tennis player, said: "My son is Barcelona. He lived there from the age of zero to 11, and he would be the happiest person in the world if he ever played for this team."
The father of the Roma player added that his son's relationship with the Catalan club dates back to his childhood, after spending his early years in the city of Barcelona, where he grew up loving the team and was influenced by the generation of stars who wore its colors.
Nail had previously confirmed his great admiration for Barcelona's midfield legend Andrés Iniesta, saying: "He has always been a fan of his playing style, which reflects his connection to the style of football that the Catalan club is famous for."
The Moroccan midfielder continues to shine with the national team in the 2026 World Cup, having started in the matches against Brazil and Scotland, confirming his presence as one of the standout new elements in the "Atlas Lions" lineup.
