Meknes honors the symbols of Moroccan basketball.
The final match of the national championship for the men's first division basketball, held in the city of Meknes, featured a special tribute ceremony honoring several sports figures who have made remarkable contributions and helped develop Moroccan basketball at both local and national levels.
The tribute included Mustafa Jadaini, a former member of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation and former president of the Renaissance Sportive Berkane, alongside the former player of the same team, Jamal Hamad Mustafa, in recognition of their contributions and efforts in serving the game.
Former players from the Hassani Sport Association were also honored, namely Abdel Rahim Al-Sitwi and Mohamed Boumadian, in acknowledgment of their significant efforts during their sports careers and their contributions to the prominence of national basketball.
The awards were presented by Abdel Raouf Ben Taleb, the Secretary General of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation, and his deputy, Medrej Niga, along with the mayor of the Hamria area in Meknes and the president of the cultural, social, and sports committee of the Meknes municipality.
The Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation confirmed through this initiative its commitment to valuing the paths of pioneers and stakeholders who have left their mark in the history of the game, and to instilling a culture of recognition for sports contributions among current and future generations.
