The Salamis: The Nashama are ready to challenge Algeria.
Moroccan Jamal Al-Salmi, the head coach of the Jordanian national team, stated that anxiety and confusion are no longer present in the Jordanian team, ahead of their match against Algeria in the second round of the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
The Jordanian team lost in the first round of Group 10 against Austria 1-3, and will face their Algerian counterparts tomorrow morning, Tuesday, in the second round, while the latter lost to Argentina with a clean three-goal defeat in the first round.
Despite this, Al-Salmi expressed his confidence in the ability of the Jordanian team, nicknamed "Al-Nashama," to deliver a better performance against Algeria.
Al-Salmi said in a press conference before the match: "We know that the fear we felt in the first match is no longer present now."
He added: "The players are now more confident and believe in their abilities, and I see them in good shape, and they are sure that they will give their best on the field."
Regarding their opponent, the Algerian team, he said: "They played in the first match against the world champions; the Algerian team is strong in attack, fast, and has great players even on the bench."
