Closing of the Hassan II Prize for Tbourida.
The squad of Captain Tlahouni Mohamed Amin from the Casablanca-Settat region (Settat) was crowned today, Sunday, with the title of the 25th edition of the Hassan II Prize for Traditional Equestrian Arts "Tbourida," as part of the Moroccan Championship for the senior category for the year 2026, which took place in Dar es Salaam in Rabat from June 15 to 21.
In this sporting event, organized under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the squad of Captain Tlahouni Mohamed Amin outperformed the squad of Captain Halwa Abdelhadi from the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region (Skhirat-Témara), which won the silver medal, and the squad of Captain Anjar Mehdi from the Marrakech-Safi region (Marrakech-Menara), which won the bronze medal.
The title of the competitions for the youth category went to the squad from the Casablanca-Settat region, led by Captain Zrizik Badr from Mediouna, followed by the squad from the Marrakech-Safi region with Captain Khadi Badr Eddine from Youssoufia, and in third place was the squad from the Guelmim-Oued Noun region with Captain Kazoumi Hossam from Guelmim.
The first round of the finals of this sporting event, organized under the supervision of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation, saw the participation of 18 squads (seniors) competing over four days, of which ten squads qualified for the final.
In the youth category (12-16 years), six squads participated, representing the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region (Khemisset), the Eastern region (Tawrirat and Jerada), Marrakech-Safi (Youssoufia), Casablanca-Settat (Mediouna), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (Guelmim).
The Moroccan champion in the senior category received a prize worth 500,000 dirhams, 300,000 dirhams for the runner-up, and 200,000 dirhams for the bronze medalist (third place), while the fourth place received 60,000 dirhams and the fifth 50,000 dirhams. The sixth place received 45,000 dirhams.
The seventh place received 43,000 dirhams, the eighth 40,000 dirhams, the ninth 37,000 dirhams, and the tenth 35,000 dirhams. As for the positions from 11 to 18, each squad received 30,000 dirhams.
The competition program included the achievements made by the "squad" riders under the leadership of the "captain," the collective movement coordination, and the disciplined march (the hda or the chouwira), as well as the unity of the rifles' movement, the unified collective shot, and the uniformity of clothing and saddles.
Coordination between the squad riders, the level of communication, and control over the horse are also taken into account, in addition to the riding technique and the overall appearance of the rider and horse, according to criteria set by the judges of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation.
