The Scottish national team and tactical opinion... Will Wahbi employ the "false nine"?
All eyes are on the Moroccan national football team's match against Scotland, and whether coach Mohamed Wahbi will rely on the "false nine" against the "Tartan Army" defense, which experts say is characterized by a solid defensive block and physical strength.
In the press conference preceding the match, regarding the limited attacking efficiency that accompanied the team during parts of the last game, coach Mohamed Wahbi clarified that this issue is not only related to the work done in training but also to the tactical choices and the technical characteristics of the players used, adding: "We have worked on this aspect, but effectiveness is not solely linked to training. Sometimes it depends on the players on the field and the nature of the roles they perform."
Tariq Taliani, a sports critic, confirmed that "the upcoming match for the Moroccan national team will be difficult and open to all possibilities," adding: "Based on the training data and current statements, it is expected that the national coach will primarily rely on player Sofiane Rahimi in this important match."
Taliani explained to Hespress that "the pressure in the match between Morocco and Scotland will be entirely on the Moroccan national team and not on the opponent; the Scottish team has three points in its tally, which intensifies the competition between Morocco and Brazil."
The speaker pointed to his reading of the Scottish national team's playing style and spoke about their match against Haiti, saying: "Haiti had possession of the ball, but the Scottish team succeeded in scoring, and the statements of their coach confirm their reliance on allowing Morocco to have possession and playing on counterattacks."
The same sports critic emphasized that national coach Wahbi possesses great tactical awareness, as he approaches each match according to its nature and devises a specific strategy for it, mentioning that "playing against open teams like Brazil requires a false nine, while the team against Scotland, which tends to defend, needs a clear striker (center forward) to disturb the physically strong defenders."
