Switzerland harshly defeats the Bosnia team.
The Swiss national team is close to securing its qualification for the Round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup after achieving its first victory with a significant 4-1 win over the depleted Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday at the "Los Angeles Stadium" in Los Angeles during the second round of group B matches.
The team, coached by Murat Yakin, owes its victory to goals from substitutes Johan Mvogo (74 and 90), Ruben Vargas (84), and captain Granit Xhaka (90+7 from a penalty), while the Bosnians scored through substitute Ermin Mehmeti (90+3).
The Swiss have raised their points total to four at the top of group B, three points ahead of the host Canada and Qatar, who will meet later, and Bosnia.
