Disappointing draw for Ronaldo's teammates in the World Cup.
The Portugal national team, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, began its journey to try to win the title for the first time in its history with a disappointing 1-1 draw against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Wednesday in Houston during the first round of Group 11 of the 2026 World Cup held in North America.
Portugal took the lead in the sixth minute through João Neves, but the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in its first appearance in the World Cup finals in 52 years, equalized and earned its first point in history through Yoane Wissa (45+5).
The new group also includes Uzbekistan and Colombia, who will meet later at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
