The start of the World Cup exceeds one million fans.
FIFA announced that more than one million fans attended the first 16 matches of the World Cup taking place in North America.
According to the British news agency "PA Media," concerns about ticket prices before the tournament began were justified, as large areas of empty seats appeared in the match between South Korea and the Czech Republic in Guadalajara last Thursday, as well as in Saturday's match between Qatar and Switzerland in the San Francisco Bay area.
However, FIFA stated that one million and 28 thousand and 429 fans attended the matches as of Monday, with stadiums filled to 99.34 percent according to its data.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino posted a picture on Instagram with fan number one million, Iron Bren.
Infantino wrote: "Thank you very much to all our passionate fans who continue to fill the stadiums.. You have made the most inclusive World Cup possible."
In contrast, a fan group warned of the "danger" resulting from the lack of separation between fans at the matches.
Ronan Evan, the executive director of the organization "Football Supporters Europe," told the BBC that "the absence of separation between fans is not normal in a tournament like this."
He added: "What is concerning is that FIFA does not actually know who owns the tickets here and there… due to the push towards significant ticket reselling."
He continued: "Therefore, the likelihood of fans from team 'A' being among fans of team 'B' has become greater than ever."
Sources within the governing body of football at the global level indicated that the most loyal national team fans are grouped under a special allocation called "the participating association."
FIFA later announced that the four matches held yesterday, Tuesday, set a new record for the most attended day in the tournament's history.
A new record of 281 thousand and 223 spectators was recorded, surpassing the previous record of 277 thousand and 70 spectators achieved in the 1994 World Cup in the United States, which also featured four matches.
This total number came from the matches of France against Senegal (80 thousand and 545), Argentina against Algeria (69 thousand and 45), Austria against Jordan (68 thousand and 527), and Iraq against Norway (63 thousand and 106).
