"The lionesses" are dropping in the world ranking.
The new global ranking for women's national teams issued by FIFA has seen the Moroccan women's national team drop two places, now occupying the 64th position worldwide, down from 62nd in the previous ranking.
This decline comes as part of the latest update to FIFA's global women's ranking, which has seen many changes in team positions following 119 international matches played recently.
On a global scale, the Spanish national team, the world champion, has maintained its top position, achieving the best ranking in its history, ahead of the United States, which is in second place, while the German national team has risen to third place at the expense of England, which has dropped to fourth.
The ranking has also seen the entry of new teams and others achieving their best historical positions, at a time when the number of teams included in the ranking has reached 198, a record number in terms of the number of national member associations under FIFA's umbrella.
