The Moroccan champion Mohamed Toucheci was crowned the world champion in kickboxing in the light heavyweight category during the "Glory Collision 9" championship held in the Dutch city of Rotterdam.
Mohamed Toucheci fought three matches, winning the first match against his Azerbaijani opponent Bahra, the second match against the Turkish fighter Sem Kessari, and then achieving victory again in the third match against the Surinamese fighter Dunfen Vise, which enabled him to win the world title in kickboxing.
This victory received the attention of King Mohammed VI, who sent a congratulatory message to the Moroccan champion Mohamed Toucheci, expressing his pride in this sporting achievement, praising his genuine national spirit and the distinguished level at which he raised the flag of the Kingdom of Morocco in international forums.
The king confirmed in his message that "this victory is a source of pride for all Moroccans and an incentive for Moroccan youth to continue to shine and innovate in various sports."
Mohamed Toucheci expressed his immense happiness and gratitude for the royal congratulations in a statement to Hespress, saying: "I made the king and the Moroccan people happy, and I dedicate the championship belt to the king," before concluding with: "Always Morocco, God, homeland, king."
For his part, international coach Said Badawi, coach of the Moroccan champion Mohamed Toucheci, stated in a statement to Hespress: "I thank King Mohammed VI for encouraging us, and I thank all Moroccans who follow and support us."
The father of the Moroccan champion expressed his pride, happiness, and gratitude for the royal congratulations, saying: "I thank King Mohammed VI and all Moroccans inside and outside the homeland, and the Moroccan flag always flies high," also announcing that he dedicates the victory to the king.
As for Melvin Manhoef, a former world champion from the Netherlands, he said: "I see that Mohamed Toucheci will become the successor to world champion Badr Hari. He is a fierce fighter; I have been following him since he was young, and Moroccans have great experience in kickboxing."
