Morocco is the world champion in "chasing."
The Moroccan team "Rooftop Kings" won the title of the World Championship for "World Chase Tag 2026," which was held in Évry-Courcouronnes, France, on June 6 and 7 of this month.
The Moroccan team was able to secure this title in one of the fastest-growing urban sports in the world, with the championship featuring 18 teams from different countries, including 12 teams in the men's category and 6 teams in the women's category.
"World Chase Tag" is an exciting exhibition sport that combines parkour, speed, agility, and strategy. This sport is now broadcast in over 35 countries worldwide, with its digital viewership exceeding three billion views.
Ridouane Yaakoub, the founder and leader of the "Rooftop Kings" team, stated that this global title represents the culmination of more than ten years of work, training, and development.
Yaakoub added, in a statement seen by Hespress, that this title goes far beyond the realm of sports, proving what can be achieved when talent, hard work, and determination come together.
He also expressed pride in representing Morocco on the global stage and in raising this title in the name of the country, hoping that the team will inspire young generations to believe in their abilities and pursue their ambitions.
It is worth noting that "Rooftop Kings" is an urban sports organization based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and currently holds the title of world champion in "Chase Tag."
The team represents Morocco in international competitions and includes athletes from diverse backgrounds, whose skills have been developed through the culture of parkour (free movement and overcoming obstacles) and free running (expressive free movement).
In addition to competing at the highest levels, the "Rooftop Kings" organization is actively committed to talent development, training, and inspiring youth through sports to achieve personal growth and prosperity.
