Lajoua: There is no fear for the Moroccan national team in the World Cup finals.
Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, stated that the national team's participation in the 2026 World Cup "is not a cause for concern," affirming that the national players will fight until the last breath, with a shared goal that they consider a duty, which is to bring joy to Moroccans, especially King Mohammed VI, who closely follows the national team's situation.
During a meeting of a parliamentary committee in the first chamber today, Lekjaa added that the "Atlas Lions" will be ready, reinforcing what has been achieved in various stages and many occasions, which has ensured the team's presence today among the elite of world football, emphasizing that the competition will be fought with the same energy and determination.
Regarding the match against the Brazilian national team, considered one of the strongest teams in the world, the Moroccan sports official said that "evaluating the match based on the nature of the upcoming opponent is outside the logic of national football perception," meaning that preparation or performance evaluation cannot be reduced to just the name of the opponent, but rather every match should be approached with a competitive mindset based on readiness, discipline, and delivering the best possible performance, regardless of the opponent's value or history.
The statements of the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation in Parliament come at a time when the national team is participating in the current World Cup in the United States, having started its journey in the tournament last Saturday with a strong and exciting match against the Brazilian team, which ended in a draw (1-1) and received wide public attention, marking the World Cup path for Achraf Hakimi's teammates.
The heads of the teams and the parliamentary group conveyed their congratulations to Fouzi Lekjaa during their interventions, on the sidelines of the discussion of the draft law No. 41.26 amending and supplementing law No. 58.23 related to the direct social support system, where they expressed their appreciation for what the "Atlas Lions" demonstrated against the "Seleção" in terms of discipline, readiness, and high morale.
