Officially.. Real Madrid signs Cucurella.
The Spanish football club Real Madrid announced its signing of Marc Cucurella from English club Chelsea today, Monday, on the same day the player will play the opening match for the Spanish national team in the World Cup.
Cucurella has signed a contract that extends for six years, according to Real Madrid, which appointed José Mourinho as head coach last week. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Cucurella, who is 27 years old and joined Chelsea from Brighton in 2022, can be easily recognized by his long curly hair, is with the Spanish national team at the World Cup taking place in North America.
The Spanish national team is playing its first match in the World Cup against Cape Verde in Atlanta.
Chelsea is under pressure to sell some of its best players this summer after failing to qualify for any European competition next season.
