The excitement of the football league is heating up in Morocco.
The excitement continues in the professional championship "Inwi" in its first division, as the upcoming round is expected to bring increasing competitiveness due to the desire of all teams, whether they are fighting for the title or competing to escape the lower ranks, to gain additional points, especially with the upcoming matches. During this round, the Royal Army, which sits at the top, will face Olympic Dcheira, one of the teams threatened with relegation; while Morocco Fassi, the runner-up, will host Hassania Agadir. As for Nahdat Berkane, they will face Olympic Safi in a clash of contrasts.
The matches of the twenty-fourth round of the championship concluded yesterday, Sunday. This round revealed results that changed the landscape of the standings, especially in the top positions.
In the highlight of this round, the Royal Army did not miss the opportunity to seize the top spot, as they defeated their guest Wydad Athletic Club by two goals to one; thus, the "soldiers" continue their campaign for the title with an unbeaten record, while Wydad continues to struggle with inconsistent results this season.
The Royal Army was able to take the lead after their rival Nahdat Berkane stumbled at the Adrar Stadium against their host Hassania Agadir, who managed to win by a clean goal. With this result, the Berkane team missed the chance to maintain the top position; while Hassania continues to achieve positive results that have allowed them to relatively escape the relegation zone.
For its part, Morocco Fassi settled for a positive draw of one goal each against Al-Fateh, thus costing the Fassi players two important points in the battle for the championship trophy.
This round also saw the continued point loss for Raja Casablanca, as they only managed a positive draw against their guest Ittihad Tawraka, while Ittihad Tangier returned to the path of positive results after achieving an important victory over Ittihad Yaqub Al-Mansour by two goals to none, thus worsening the situation of the "Knight of the Bay" in the lower ranks.
On the other hand, Olympic Safi managed to secure three points against their opponent Kawkab Marrakech with a goal to none; thus, the Safi team revived their hopes of staying in the top division after successfully escaping from the last position.
Conversely, Olympic Dcheira failed to maintain their lead against Hassania Agadir, who came back to force a draw after being down by two goals. The Meknes club also lost at home to Nahdat Zemamra by two goals to one.
Thus, a new round of this season's championship has come to a close; intensifying the battle for the title, especially among the trio of Royal Army, Nahdat Berkane, and Morocco Fassi; while at the bottom of the standings, determining the identity of the teams relegated from the first division seems difficult due to the close point gap between the tenth place and the last place, which is only 12 points apart.
