The Moroccan Benhashim trains the Egyptian Modern.
The Modern Sport Club, competing in the Egyptian First Division League, announced the appointment of Moroccan coach Mohamed Amin Benhashim as the team's coach for the upcoming season.
The Modern Sport Club had previously decided to appoint coach Reda Shahat, before the latter requested to terminate his contract amicably with the club's management.
Modern Sport stated through its media center on Monday that Benhashim has officially signed a contract for one season.
It added that "Benhashim has achieved remarkable successes and has an impressive coaching career during which he led several clubs, most notably Wydad," and clarified that "the Moroccan school has proven its success in football, and it should be utilized in the Egyptian league."
Benhashim left coaching Wydad after being eliminated in the quarter-finals of the African Confederation Cup against Moroccan club Olympique Safi.
