"The Black" matters.. Scotland wins against Haiti.
The Scotland national team has taken a significant step towards achieving its dream of qualifying for the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time in its history.
The Scottish team achieved a valuable victory of 1-0 against the Haiti national team on Saturday evening local time (Sunday morning GMT) in the first round of Group C in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, currently being held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Scotland owes a great deal of thanks for this victory to its player John McGinn, who scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute, giving his team its first win in the World Cup.
With this result, Scotland sits at the top of the group standings with 3 points, two points ahead of its closest rivals, Morocco and Brazil, who drew 1-1 earlier today in the same round, while Haiti remains without any points at the bottom of the standings.
It is worth noting that the 48 teams participating in the World Cup have been divided into 12 groups, with 4 teams in each group, and the top two teams will qualify for the knockout stages, along with the best 8 teams that finish in third place.
Scotland will play its next match in the tournament against Morocco in the second round of the group, which will also feature another match between Brazil and Haiti.
