Neymar's continued absence from Brazil's training.
The absence of the captain and all-time top scorer of the Brazilian national football team, Neymar, from the training sessions of the "Seleção" continues; he was not present today, Friday, with his teammates in the final morning training ahead of the match against Morocco in New Jersey as part of the first round of Group C in the 2026 World Cup.
Brazilian national team players participated in the training session held at the new training ground of the New York Red Bulls, a team competing in the American league, located about 50 kilometers (30 miles) west of Manhattan, except for the former forward of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al-Hilal.
The current Santos forward, who is 34 years old, is suffering from a physical issue in his calf for which he underwent an MRI.
Neymar (79 international goals) has shown improvement in his treatment, according to the Brazilian Football Confederation, but he is not yet ready to participate in training and return to play for the first time since May 17.
The Italian coach of Brazil, Carlo Ancelotti, expressed last Friday his confidence in Neymar's potential return to training this week, announcing that the player would be ready to participate either in Brazil's first or second match.
He added that he would not risk rushing the recovery of the star, whose career in recent seasons has been burdened by recurring injuries.
Neymar has been a key player in Brazil's last three World Cup appearances.
It has now been confirmed that Neymar will not play in tomorrow's match against Morocco, with his first appearance expected in the second round against Haiti on June 19.
