"FIFA ranking" motivates the Moroccan national team.
The International Football Federation announced the new world ranking of national teams, following the completion of the last friendly matches before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals, where the Moroccan national team maintained its presence among the elite of world teams, occupying the seventh position globally.
The "Atlas Lions" continued to make history in the international ranking, having risen to seventh place, which is the best ranking achieved by the national team since the adoption of the world ranking in 1993, surpassing the Netherlands, which dropped to eighth place.
Mahdi Kaswa, a sports expert, considered that "this ranking, in terms of the psychological aspect, gives players a positive incentive as they are on the verge of starting this World Cup," indicating that there are strong motivations, the first of which is the previous results, as the team finished fourth in the last World Cup.
Kaswa added to Hespress that these numbers and ranks create motivations and reasons that make the effort doubled by the players on the green pitch, and he added: "When we talk about the quality of the players present, their market value, and their current condition, it is clear that they possess significant positive attributes and capabilities."
The World Cup remains, according to the same speaker, the main criterion that contributes to marketing players at multiplied prices based on their performance and effort. All these factors make the national team players enter the match against Brazil with spirit, determination, will, and strength, and the most important thing is to continue the path of development that has been followed over the past years.
The same sports expert continued: "If we talk about the last four years, we can say that the team's level has been very commendable against major teams that have offensive boldness. Conversely, we found some difficulties with teams that retreat to defend, but the situation is completely different when facing an opponent like the Brazilian team."
Kaswa stated that "Brazil cannot rely on a cautious defensive system or retreat to the back to keep their net clean, as Brazilian football is known for opening up the play, and this style will leave spaces behind their defenders, making the match a favorable opportunity for our players to find the spaces they always prefer to play in."
Aziz Daouda, a sports expert, highlighted that the value of the "FIFA" ranking "is primarily reflected in the draw of the competitions, as it is relied upon to distribute teams into pots and groups. If Morocco had been in seventh place before the current World Cup draw, we would not have ended up in Brazil's group, but we would have been placed at the top of one of the groups benefiting from this ranking."
