The national team continues preparations for Brazil.
The Moroccan national team continues its preparations for the upcoming match against the Brazilian national team, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, at the "MetLife" Stadium in New Jersey, USA, as part of the first round of Group C in the 2026 World Cup.
The penultimate training session for the "Atlas Lions" saw the participation of all players, including those who had suffered injuries in the past period, such as Noussair Mazraoui, Anas Salah Eddine, and Shamseddine Talbi, in addition to Nayef Aguerd, who appeared with the group despite officially being ruled out of participation in the finals.
The session, during the part open to the media, took place in a positive atmosphere characterized by focus and discipline, as national coach Mohamed Wahbi continued to finalize the technical and tactical aspects before deciding on the starting lineup and the tactical formation he will adopt against the "Seleção" in Morocco's opening match in the World Cup.
The International Football Federation approved the amendments made to the Moroccan national team's roster, after defender Nayef Aguerd was replaced by Marouane Saadane, while Amin Sabhi took the place of Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, who was also confirmed to be absent due to injury.
There were hopes of Aguerd regaining his fitness before the start of the competition, especially after participating in some recent training sessions; however, the national team defender was unable to fully recover from the injury he has been suffering from in the pubic bone, which has kept him off the field since March.
On his part, Ezzalzouli suffered a knee injury during the last friendly match against the Norway national team, an injury that initial assessments indicated he could recover from within a few weeks, keeping the door of hope open for his participation in the later stages of the tournament, before his absence from the final list was confirmed.
