Slovenian referee for the match between Morocco and Brazil.
FIFA has appointed the officiating crew that will manage the match between the Brazilian national team and the Moroccan national team, in the opening match of both teams in the 2026 World Cup finals.
Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić will lead the anticipated match, which will take place next Saturday evening at a stadium in New Jersey, USA.
Vinčić is 46 years old and is considered one of the most prominent European referees in recent years, having officiated nine matches during the last edition of the UEFA Champions League, including the Chelsea vs. Paris Saint-Germain match in the Round of 16, and the Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid match in the quarter-finals.
The Slovenian referee will be assisted by his compatriots Tomaž Klancnik and Ndras Kovacic as line assistants, while Swiss referee Sandro Schärer has been appointed as the fourth official, and his compatriot Stefan de Almeida as a reserve referee.
The Brazilian national team is competing in Group C, which also includes the teams from Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.
The Brazilian team is scheduled to meet its Moroccan counterpart on Saturday, June 13, in their first match in the 2026 World Cup taking place in the United States.
