Injuries test the Moroccan national team... and significant absences disrupt Wahbi's plans.
With the injuries of players Noussair Mazraoui and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, questions are rising about the impact of this on the national team's performance against Brazil, amid ongoing discussions about the qualifications of the substitutes.
Concerns are heightened regarding the effects of these injuries on the performance of the "Atlas Lions" in their first World Cup match against Brazil, with the continued absence of crucial players in the substitute bench, as revealed by recent friendlies and analysts' assessments, especially during the match against Norway.
According to "Hesport," initial medical examinations conducted on Moroccan international Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, the forward of the Moroccan national team, revealed that he suffered a knee ligament injury that will keep him off the field for the upcoming period; while it was found that Mazraoui sustained a shoulder injury, but the initial medical tests were reassuring for the medical and technical staff of the "Atlas Lions."
Abdelhak Asrahan, a sports expert, stated that "the performance of the Moroccan national team showed a noticeable decline in the second half compared to the good level they displayed in the first half, due to the changes that were made; which raises again the issue of the substitutes not having the same technical value and readiness as the starting players in the lineup."
Asrahan added to Hespress that the injury of player Abdessamad Ezzalzouli "is a painful blow to the national team; given the exceptional and great season he had with Real Betis in the Spanish league, where he is distinguished by his high ability to penetrate defenses, retrieve balls from the back, and create continuous danger and quick attacks that pose a real threat to his opponents."
He continued: "Despite the expected impact of this injury on the attacking line, there are options available to the national coach through the expanded list; such as calling up Watford player Imran Louza, or the alternative Sofiane Boufal, who has started to regain his usual form recently, especially during this current football season."
