Doctor Hefti reassures Wydad fans.
Abdel Razak Hefti, the head of the medical staff for Wydad Athletic Club, confirmed that the "Red" team does not suffer from a large number of injuries compared to previous seasons, considering that the coincidence of some absences with important matches makes the fans focus on them more.
Hefti explained, during his appearance as a guest on the club's official channel, that muscle injuries remain among the most common injuries in modern football, emphasizing the necessity of respecting all stages of treatment and rehabilitation before allowing players to return to competitions.
In discussing striker Hamza El Hanouri, the medical official for Wydad revealed that the player was suffering from a muscle injury resulting from the significant physical efforts exerted during the past period, which necessitated close monitoring by the medical staff.
Hefti pointed out that El Hanouri showed a strong desire to return to the field and resume competition; however, the medical staff preferred not to take the risk of involving him before completing all stages of rehabilitation, in order to ensure his safety and avoid any setbacks that could delay his return.
The same speaker added that muscle injuries require passing through specific stages that include clinical examinations, physical tests, and ensuring that the player has regained all of his physical capabilities, explaining that rushing back can often lead to recurrent or chronic injuries.
Hefti stressed that prevention remains the best way to reduce injuries, through preventive physical work, respecting rest periods, ensuring proper sleep and nutrition, along with continuous coordination between the medical and technical staff.
He also acknowledged that the pressure of matches and the succession of competitions increase the level of physical fatigue among players; however, he confirmed that Wydad continues to work according to precise medical protocols to ensure the readiness of its players in various competitions.
The head of the medical staff for Wydad concluded his remarks by affirming his confidence in the current group and its ability to overcome various challenges, praising the continuous support it receives from the club's fans, and expressing his optimism about the team's future in the upcoming phase.
