Mohamed Wahbi, the coach of the Moroccan national football team, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his players in the friendly match that brought together the "Atlas Lions" and the Norwegian national team last Sunday evening, which ended in a 1-1 draw, as the last preparatory stop before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
Wahbi stated in his remarks after the match that the national team faced a strong opponent and succeeded in delivering a good level of play, noting that the match allowed the technical staff to assess the players' readiness before entering the global football event.
The national coach added that the main goal at this stage is not limited to the technical aspect only; it also includes adapting to the climatic conditions and the prevailing atmosphere in the United States, confirming that the group continues its preparations positively to appear in the best possible form in the World Cup.
Wahbi affirmed his confidence in the national team's players' ability to reach the required readiness before the first match against Brazil, emphasizing that work is ongoing to correct some details and achieve complete harmony within the group.
The "Atlas Lions" coach also took the opportunity to send a message of thanks to the Moroccan fans, expressing his pride in the support the national team receives, and confirming that the players are aware of the expectations of the supporters and will do their utmost to defend the national jersey.
On the other hand, Wahbi expressed concern about the health status of some players after Noussair Mazraoui and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli were injured during the last match, explaining that the medical staff will closely monitor their conditions.
The speaker concluded by emphasizing that the issue of injuries remains his primary concern at the moment, given the importance of all elements within the group and the need to enter the tournament with full human and technical readiness.
