"Confidence and caution" are the keys for the Moroccan team against Brazil in the 2026 World Cup.
Experts in sports affairs have revealed that the Moroccan national team possesses several assets that will enable it to surpass its Brazilian counterpart in the World Cup competition.
The same experts pointed out that the Brazilian team suffers from numerous weaknesses, the most notable being "weak defense and a mediocre midfield," while also warning against the trap of player skills and excessive confidence.
Abdelhak Serhan, a sports expert, considered that "the Brazilian team is one of the classic, prestigious teams known worldwide; it has a rich history with 23 participations and has been present in all editions of the World Cup since its inception in 1930 in Uruguay to this day, which always makes it a strong team with a global reputation that has produced many stars."
Despite this history, Serhan added to Hespress, "we cannot forget that the Brazilian team has not been achieving the desired results in recent years, especially after its exit in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar; it also suffered a painful football setback and a severe blow when it was defeated at home 7-1 by Germany in the 2014 World Cup, which illustrates its recent decline in performance."
On the other hand, the speaker noted that "the Moroccan national team is no longer the same team that faced Brazil in 1998, as the significant gaps in player capabilities have diminished; Morocco now has high-level players like Achraf Hakimi, who is expected to reach far as a champion of the Champions League and a star with a significant media presence," adding: "Individual comparisons between players are no longer as they used to be, as the Moroccan team now includes high-caliber players."
Based on this, the sports expert believes that "the national elite will enter this match with full confidence," and that "a positive result in the match will give the national players a strong boost to achieve more positive results in the future."
