The league brings Basins to the disciplinary committee.
The National Professional Football League decided to file a complaint with the Central Disciplinary Committee against the player of RS Berkane, Paul Valer Bacin, following the actions he exhibited during the match between his team and Raja Casablanca, in the 22nd round of the professional league.
The league clarified in an official statement that it has referred the player's case to the Central Disciplinary Committee to examine the events related to the match, which ended with RS Berkane winning by a goal to nil, a match that sparked much controversy after the final whistle.
Bacin had scored the only winning goal for the Berkane team before leaving the pitch after being sent off in the 80th minute for what the referee deemed an unsportsmanlike conduct. His celebration after scoring also provoked widespread reactions among followers and components of national football.
In a related context, the Senegalese player quickly issued an official apology to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the clubs RS Berkane and Raja Casablanca, as well as to Moroccan football fans, affirming that the celebration, which was considered excessive, was not intended to offend.
Bacin stated in a message posted on his official account that his actions were "a spontaneous expression of enthusiasm and fighting spirit on the field," emphasizing that his goal was to express determination and resolve in defending his team's colors, not to provoke any party.
The Central Disciplinary Committee is expected to rule on the complaint submitted by the National Professional Football League to make an appropriate decision in accordance with the applicable regulations.
