The Moroccan national football team has arrived in the United States to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is jointly hosted by Canada and Mexico.
Upon the arrival of the Moroccan national team at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, they were welcomed by the Moroccan ambassador to the United States, Youssef El Amrani, and the Consul General of the Kingdom in New York, Mohamed Ait Behi.
The national team also received a warm welcome from several members of the Moroccan community residing in the United States, who gathered to greet the teammates of Achraf Hakimi, expressing their sincere wishes for success and good fortune in this global football event.
The national team has chosen the Pingry School in New Jersey as its main training camp, a space selected to continue preparations and intensify focus in anticipation of this global competition.
This strategic choice places Coach Mohamed Wahbi's men close to the infrastructure that will host several matches of the tournament.
The Moroccan team, which was drawn into Group C, will face Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti in the first round.
Before starting their journey in the World Cup, the "Atlas Lions" will play their final friendly match against the Norwegian national team next Sunday, in order to finalize their preparations before the actual start of the tournament.
The Moroccan national team will kick off the World Cup with a match against Brazil on June 13, followed by a match against Scotland in the second round of the group stage on June 19, and then Haiti on June 24.
