Al-Wahidi misses accompanying the "Blacks."
The Moroccan international Zakaria Al-Wahidi did not accompany the Moroccan national team delegation that departed today, Wednesday, to the United States, in preparation for the 2026 World Cup finals, while Ali Maamer was included in the list of travelers, despite not being mentioned in the final or reserve list announced by national coach Mohamed Wahbi.
"Hesport" learned from informed sources that Al-Wahidi's absence from the national team's trip is due to an issue related to obtaining a visa to enter the United States, while awaiting the outcome of the efforts being made by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to resolve the matter as soon as possible, before the start of the World Cup competitions.
"Hesport" attempted to communicate with officials responsible for communication within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to inquire about Al-Wahidi's situation, as well as the nature of Maamer's presence in the team delegation, but the same sources preferred not to provide any clarifications regarding the matter.
Available data indicated that the national team's technical staff decided to take Maamer to the United States as a precautionary measure, in anticipation of any potential delays in resolving Al-Wahidi's situation, while awaiting the legal framework that aligns with FIFA regulations in case it becomes necessary to make any amendments to the final list.
Ali Maamer participated yesterday, Tuesday, in the friendly match that brought together the national team and its Malagasy counterpart, despite being absent from both the final and reserve lists, while Al-Wahidi watched the match from the stands.
