"The Atlas Lions" sweep the Madagascar national team with a four-goal victory in preparation for the World Cup.
The Moroccan national team won against their Malagasy counterpart in a friendly match with a score of 4-0, this Tuesday evening, at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The "Lions" managed to get into the game early, as they opened the scoring in the fourth minute, after a corner taken by Bilal Khannous, which was headed into the net by Ismail Sabari with a beautiful header.
In the twenty-fifth minute, Ismail Sabari returned to add his second personal goal and the team's second, taking advantage of a mix-up in the Malagasy defense, ending the first half with the national team leading by two goals to none.
At the start of the second half, national coach Mohamed Wahbi made six substitutions at once, in a move aimed at giving the opportunity to as many players as possible and testing various tactical options to assess the readiness of the national elements.
In the 78th minute, striker Soufiane Rahimi added the third goal for the Atlas Lions from a penalty awarded to Azzedine Ounahi.
In the 79th minute, there was a red card issued to a player from the Malagasy team, Rahirinina Hadri.
The Moroccan team took advantage of this numerical disadvantage to add the fourth goal in the 87th minute through Ayoub El Kaabi.
As part of the national team's preparations for the 2026 World Cup finals, the "Lions" will play a second friendly match on June 7 against the Norwegian team, at the "Sports Illustrated" stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, USA.
