Maamar joins the "Atlas Lions" camp.
The Moroccan national football team continued its preparations for the 2026 World Cup today, Sunday, by conducting a new training session at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, as part of the training program outlined by the national coach and his technical staff in anticipation of the upcoming global event.
According to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the technical staff, led by national coach Mohamed Wahbi, focused during today's session on physical and technical aspects, aiming to enhance the players' readiness and maintain the upward momentum of the preparations, as well as to strengthen the cohesion among the team members before entering the official competition.
The training session saw the arrival of Ali Maamar, a player from Belgian club Anderlecht, to the "Atlas Lions" camp, in preparation for the friendly match that will bring the national team together with its Malagasy counterpart next Tuesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, after which the player will join the national team for players under 23 years old.
The match against Madagascar represents the last preparatory stop in Morocco before heading to the United States, where the national team will play a second friendly match against Norway next Sunday, in a final test before the start of the 2026 World Cup competitions.
