Kvaratskhelia is the best in the Champions League.
Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was named the best player in the UEFA Champions League for this season on Sunday, following his role in Paris Saint-Germain's consecutive title win, according to a panel from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
Kvaratskhelia was a constant threat during PSG's campaign to defend their title, scoring 10 goals in 16 matches, along with 6 assists.
PSG turned around an early deficit against English side Arsenal on Saturday in the Budapest final, equalizing in the 65th minute with a penalty won by Kvaratskhelia and successfully converted by Ousmane Dembélé.
Both players left the field before reaching extra time in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time, before PSG emerged victorious in the penalty shootout 4-3.
The UEFA technical observers panel includes around 30 prominent football figures, including former England manager Gareth Southgate, former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and former Liverpool manager Rafa Benítez.
The committee's statement described Kvaratskhelia's season as crucial and impressive.
The statement noted that "Kvaratskhelia's best performance was likely in the unforgettable 5-4 win in the first leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich, where he scored a stunning goal with a curled shot to equalize at 1-1, before netting another with a powerful shot in the second half to complete a remarkable brace."
He also scored three goals in the two-legged round of 16 against Chelsea and another goal at Anfield against fellow English side Liverpool during the quarter-finals.
The 25-year-old was also among the scorers in the 2025 final when PSG achieved a historic result against Inter Milan (5-0).
