Hakimi raises the ceiling of World Cup dreams.
After his remarkable performance in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Achraf Hakimi hopes to lead the Moroccan national team to another outstanding achievement in the upcoming World Cup this summer.
During the next World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the right-back of Paris Saint-Germain will lead the dreams of the Moroccan team to achieve better results than the fourth place that the "Atlas Lions" secured in the World Cup in Qatar.
Hakimi has recently suffered from a series of injuries that kept him off the pitch for a long time, but he is now ready to participate in the World Cup and continue to shine with the Moroccan national team in his third appearance at the grand global event, after participating in the 2018 and 2022 editions.
Hakimi, who is 27 years old, told FIFA's official website: "It is a dream for me to return to the World Cup. The Qatar 2022 tournament was definitely a turning point for me."
The Moroccan star added: "The last edition changed our lives forever. People saw that we can achieve great things in major competitions. This is the path we want to continue following."
Hakimi was born on November 4, 1998, to Moroccan parents in the Spanish capital, Madrid, and obtained Spanish citizenship. He joined the youth team of Real Madrid in 2006 at the age of 8.
After his performance in the La Fábrica academy, the Moroccan player was promoted to Real Madrid's reserve team in June 2016, and shortly after, he played his first match with the royal team in a friendly against Paris Saint-Germain.
Hakimi played his first official match with Real Madrid at the age of just 18, on October 1, 2017, under the legendary French coach Zinedine Zidane, against the visiting team Espanyol.
On December 9 of the same year, Hakimi became the first Arab and African player to score for Real Madrid during the team's overwhelming 5-0 victory over Sevilla.
In the 2017-2018 season, the player participated with Real Madrid in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, where the white team won the prestigious title for the third consecutive time and the 13th in the club's history at that time.
Hakimi was loaned to Borussia Dortmund on July 11, 2018, for two years, where he played 73 matches with the team across various competitions, scoring 12 goals, and during that period, he won the German Super Cup in 2019, before joining Inter Milan in Italy on July 2, 2020, with a 5-year contract for 40 million euros, plus 5 million in add-ons.
