Ancelotti expects Neymar to be ready for the World Cup.
Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of the Brazilian national team, confirmed that Neymar is making good progress in recovering from a calf injury, expressing confidence in his ability to participate in his country's first match against Morocco in the World Cup next month.
Ancelotti stated in remarks to reporters yesterday, Saturday, before the friendly match against Panama, that the coaching staff received a report from Santos before announcing the squad, indicating that the player is experiencing slight swelling. He added that the Brazilian Football Confederation then took over monitoring his health condition and overseeing his recovery program.
The Italian coach explained that Neymar is in good spirits and continues to work according to the specified program, noting that the coaching staff expects him to be ready for the opening match, and if that is not possible, he will be available for the second match.
Ancelotti emphasized that the Brazilian national team does not intend to replace any player in the current squad due to Neymar's injury, affirming the importance of having the all-time top scorer for the "Seleção," who has scored 79 goals in 128 international matches.
Brazil is preparing to compete in the World Cup in North America from June 11 to July 19, where they have been drawn into Group C alongside Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland, while aiming to secure their sixth title and enhance their record number of tournament victories.
