National gathering to celebrate World Bicycle Day.
The Moroccan Royal Cycling Federation has invited various regional leagues and sports associations under its umbrella to participate in commemorating World Bicycle Day, which falls on June 3rd each year, by organizing sports, awareness, and educational activities that highlight the importance of this means of transportation in promoting health, protecting the environment, and establishing the principles of sustainable development.
The Moroccan Royal Cycling Federation clarified in a circular distributed to its members that celebrating this global occasion is part of international efforts aimed at encouraging the use of bicycles as an economical, safe, and environmentally friendly mode of transport, contributing to reducing pollution and carbon emissions, as well as its role in promoting a culture of sports and enhancing social inclusion.
The governing body of cycling in Morocco called for programming diverse initiatives that align with the specificities of each region, including organizing bike rides and demonstration events involving various age groups, conducting awareness campaigns to highlight the health and environmental benefits of cycling, along with educational meetings for children and youth on road safety and sustainable mobility culture.
It also urged the involvement of educational institutions, local communities, and various local stakeholders in the activities commemorating this occasion, and to work on valuing sports practices related to cycling and raising awareness of its multiple roles within society.
In this context, the Moroccan Royal Cycling Federation called for adopting the official logo for World Bicycle Day 2026, approved by the International Cycling Union, in various publications, posters, and digital media related to the activities organized for this occasion.
It emphasized the importance of accompanying the scheduled events through social media platforms using the official hashtag #WorldBicycleDay2026, while referencing the official accounts of the International Cycling Union, with the aim of promoting Moroccan initiatives and highlighting the contribution of the national cycling community to this global event.
