Salami inspires the dreams of the Jordanian national team.
Jamal Al-Salmi, the coach of the Jordanian national football team, stated that the "Nashama" team has the right to dream during the World Cup finals scheduled in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, despite the numerous injuries affecting its ranks ahead of its first participation in this cup.
The Moroccan coach added: "We have the right to dream," emphasizing: "We do not think about those who are satisfied with just participating for the first time; rather, we recall examples that made history, such as Algeria when it defeated West Germany in 1982, Tunisia against Mexico in 1978, and Saudi Arabia when it reached the second round in 1994, among other Arabs."
Al-Salmi, who is 55 years old and previously played in the World Cup with the Moroccan national team in 1998 in France, continued: "The journey will not only be to confirm the achievement of qualification, but to take on a different challenge against the giants of the game in the world."
Jordanians are living a long-awaited dream; however, the team has faced painful blows due to a series of injuries that have sidelined several of its key players. Among the most notable injured is striker Yazan Al-Naimat, who recently transferred from Al-Arabi of Qatar to Shabab Al-Ahli of the UAE, after suffering a serious injury to his cruciate ligament.
The hopes of Jordanian fans remain pinned on star Musa Al-Tamari, the winger for Rennes in France, nicknamed "Messi of Jordan," as his outstanding performance this season has raised the ceiling of ambitions, alongside defender Yazan Al-Arab, a player for Seoul in South Korea, who previously scored against Barcelona in a friendly match.
