Al-Mubarak supports Morocco from the UAE.
The former Moroccan international Bouchraib El-Mabarki confirmed that the Moroccan national team has the qualities that make it a strong candidate to win the 2026 World Cup, which is set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, pointing out that the "Atlas Lions" have gained global respect after their historic achievement in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
El-Mabarki stated in remarks reported by the newspaper "Emirates Today" that reaching the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar "was not a coincidence," but rather the result of long-term work that started from the youth categories, highlighting that several global teams have begun to draw inspiration from the Moroccan experience in training and development.
The same speaker added that the usual favorites include teams like Brazil, Argentina, Germany, and Spain in the competition, but he believes that the Moroccan team has also become a realistic candidate to win the world title, relying on international predictions and media reports that praised the development of the "Lions."
El-Mabarki pointed out that the national team has players capable of competing with the top global teams, affirming that the current group does not fear facing any opponent in the tournament.
Regarding the presence of player Sofiane Rahimi in the Moroccan national team, El-Mabarki explained that the Al Ain striker is performing exceptionally well with his team and has played a significant role in achieving several titles, adding that his presence will provide a strong boost to the national team's front line in the upcoming competitions.
The former Moroccan international also praised the development of the UAE league, considering it one of the strongest Arab championships, given the level of Moroccan players there and the increasing competition among clubs.
In discussing the UAE national team, El-Mabarki considered that the team performed well in the recent qualifiers for the World Cup, but the lack of luck and some small details prevented it from reaching the finals, emphasizing the importance of technical stability and giving enough time to build a competitive team.
El-Mabarki also addressed the possibility of coach Mohamed Wahbi leading the Moroccan national team in the future, succeeding Walid Regragui, noting that Wahbi has accumulated significant experience with youth teams and has a good understanding of the Moroccan football atmosphere, considering that supporting the national coach aligns with the continuity policy pursued by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
