Riyad is happy with Crystal Palace's victory.
Moroccan international Shadi Riyad expressed his great happiness in contributing to his team Crystal Palace's victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano, noting that the coach gave him confidence after the performance he delivered against Arsenal.
Shadi Riyad said in statements to "beIN Sports": "I knew I would play in the final after the Arsenal match, at that time the coach spoke to me and said that I had done a great job against Arsenal, and my teammate was suffering from an ankle injury and was not available."
The Moroccan defender added: "Thank God the opportunity arose for me to participate in the final, and we were able to win the title."
Shadi Riyad also spoke about his compatriot and friend Ilyas Akhomas, confirming the strong bond that has united them since childhood, saying: "Akhomas has been my friend since childhood, and we both returned from an ACL injury, and I wish him all the best in his career."
It is worth noting that Shadi Riyad is included in the final list that national coach Mohamed Wahbi has called up for the 2026 World Cup finals.
