Historic achievement .. "Crystal Palace" wins the UEFA Europa Conference League title.
The English team Crystal Palace won its first European title in history after defeating the Spanish team Rayo Vallecano 1-0 on Wednesday evening, becoming the champion of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Frenchman Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the only goal of the match in the 51st minute, giving his team victory at the Red Bull Arena in Germany.
In the team's first European participation, they managed to reach the final under the guidance of their Austrian coach Oliver Glasner, achieving a historic milestone for the London club.
The first half saw clear caution from both sides, as each team seemed eager to avoid conceding an early goal that could disrupt their plans.
As the minutes passed, the advantage slightly tilted in favor of Rayo Vallecano, but the Spanish team failed to capitalize on their superiority, as Lopez missed a dangerous opportunity when his shot went past the left post.
On the other hand, Crystal Palace tried to regain balance in the final minutes of the first half, but neither team succeeded in breaking the deadlock.
At the start of the second half, Mateta managed to open the scoring in the 51st minute, following up on a ball that rebounded off the Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper after a powerful long-range shot from Adam Wharton.
Mateta nearly added a second goal later, as he found himself in a one-on-one situation with the goal after a cross, but he shot it into the feet of the Spanish goalkeeper.
Coach Oliver Glasner enhanced his impressive coaching record, achieving his fourth title with the clubs he has led, having previously won the UEFA Europa League in the 2021-2022 season, the FA Cup in the 2024-2025 season, and the Community Shield in 2025.
