The Moroccan U-17 national team continued its strong performances in the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026," after securing a spot in the semifinals by defeating the Cameroon national team with a score of one goal to nil in the quarterfinal match.
A report published on the official website of the Confederation of African Football stated that the "Atlas Cubs" once again confirmed their desire to retain the continental title, after a performance characterized by tactical discipline and defensive solidity, especially under the pressure imposed by the Cameroonian team during the match.
The same source added that the Moroccan team finished the group stage at the top of Group A with seven points, after starting their campaign with a draw against Tunisia, followed by two consecutive victories over Ethiopia and Egypt, benefiting from the attacking efficiency of the duo Amin Mohamed Mustash and Imran Talai.
The CAF report indicated that the match against Cameroon showcased the strength of the national team's backline, led by captain Hamza Bouhadi, along with the continuous brilliance of Ibrahim Rabaj, Elyan Hadidi, and Ismail Al-Awad, who are key pillars of the current squad.
The report also highlighted the role played by Portuguese coach Tiago Lima Pereira, who succeeded in building a balanced team relying on a group of graduates from the Mohammed VI Football Academy, while imposing a style based on organization and mental and tactical discipline.
The Moroccan team will face its Senegalese counterpart today, Thursday, at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, in a highly anticipated semifinal match, through which the "Atlas Cubs" aim to continue their journey towards retaining the continental title.
