The title race is heating up in the Moroccan championship.
The curtain fell yesterday, Sunday, on the matches of the 21st round of the professional championship "Inwi" in its first division. This round witnessed intensity and strong competition in all matches, resulting in outcomes that began to clarify the features of the competitors for the title as well as the teams struggling to stay.
At the start of the round, Ittihad Tangier returned with a valuable victory from the city of Fes, defeating Maghreb Fes (MAS) with a goal to nil. This allows "the Knight of the Bay" to continue its series of positive results since the appointment of coach Abdelhak Benchikha at the helm of the team's technical staff. As for "MAS," it continues its lackluster performance, which has led it to lose the top spot once again.
The setback of Maghreb Fes was fully exploited by Raja Casablanca, as the "Eagles" returned with a valuable victory from the heart of Adrar Stadium against Olympique Dcheira, allowing Raja to take the lead in the standings. Meanwhile, Olympique continues its negative results, worsening the team's situation at the bottom of the table.
Wydad Casablanca also achieved the most important result in its match against Hassania Agadir, winning 3 goals to 2, thus keeping the "Red Team's" hopes alive in the title race and reducing the gap with the leader to two points, while Hassania Agadir continues to bleed points and approach the relegation zone.
For its part, Nahdat Berkane is one of the biggest beneficiaries of this round, achieving a valuable victory at home against Nahdat Zemamra, thus solidifying the orange team's position among the leading pack.
Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi took advantage of the opportunity to host its neighbor Olympique Safi, winning by a goal to nil, complicating the situation for the Safi team at the bottom of the standings, while Difaâ continues its positive trajectory this season.
In another match, Ittihad Tawraka achieved an important victory against Ittihad Yaacoub Mansour, successfully escaping from the last place, thus revitalizing its hopes of staying among the elite.
Kawkab Marrakech crushed its guest, Meknes Club, with a score of 3 goals to 1, thereby strengthening the position of the Marrakech team in the middle of the table.
It is worth mentioning that the match between Royal Army and its counterpart, Fath Rabat, was postponed due to the "leader's" continental commitment in the return leg of the African Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa.
