Al-Fath exits the African Basketball League.
The Al-Fateh Sports Club basketball team won against the Rwandan Tigers Club with a score of 98-99 in the match that took place this evening, Sunday, at the "BK Arena" in Kigali, as part of the second round of the quarter-finals of the African league for the same sport (BAL 2026).
Despite this victory, the Moroccan team was eliminated from the tournament after trailing by 22 points on aggregate over the two matches.
The Al-Fateh players entered the first quarter strongly to make up for the point deficit in the first match (23 points) and dominated most of its periods, finishing the half in their favor by 18 points (14-32).
The second quarter was marked by a resurgence from the Tigers Club, as the Rwandan team managed to reduce the deficit to seven points before the break (44-51).
The third quarter was evenly matched between the two teams, with the Rwandan team winning it by a score of (26-20), before Al-Fateh managed to finish the game in their favor with a score of (99-98).
With this result, the Rwandan team qualified for the semi-finals to face Al Ahly of Egypt, who advanced at the expense of Dakar Senegal by winning the second match by 11 points (87-76) after losing the first match by three points.
