The Director General of National Security reviews the security protocol for the Champions League final.
The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, conducted an inspection visit today, Sunday, to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, to review the security and safety protocol established by the Rabat Security Prefecture to secure the second leg of the CAF Champions League final match between the Royal Army team and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns.
During his tour of the stadium's facilities and amenities, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance was briefed on the various security action plans implemented to secure this match, including the traffic plan aimed at ensuring smooth movement to and from the stadium, and the sports safety plan designed to provide a safe environment for organizing the match.
On this occasion, the Rabat Security Prefect provided detailed explanations about the number of human resources and material and logistical capabilities that have been mobilized to secure this match, which included more than 6,000 police officers from various units, especially public order teams, traffic units, mounted police, trained police dogs, and bomb detection units.
The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance was also presented with the new digital surveillance plan for various sports facilities and amenities, whether through the stadium's internal camera network or by using the national security's drone system and portable cameras operated by police officers.
This visit is part of the preparations and readiness efforts undertaken by national security services to secure various continental and international sporting events hosted in our country, and it also serves as an opportunity to review and evaluate the security and safety protocols adopted to ensure the successful organization of these international sports events.
It is worth noting that the General Directorate of National Security has been engaged for some time in developing a comprehensive and integrated security strategy to secure the sporting events that will be held in Morocco in the near future, including the training and development of sports security teams and establishing a program for international security cooperation with the countries participating in continental and international competitions.
