Iran will make Mexico its main training camp during the 2026 World Cup instead of the United States after receiving approval from the International Football Federation (FIFA), the president of the Iranian Football Federation announced on Saturday.

However, the president of the Iranian Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, said on Saturday in a video on Telegram that "thanks to the meetings we held with FIFA officials... our request has been approved... our camp will be in Tijuana, near the Pacific Ocean."
