America imposes health conditions on Congo.
The American authorities have imposed a strict health protocol on the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team as a prerequisite for allowing them to enter the United States and participate in the 2026 World Cup, amid concerns related to the outbreak of the Ebola virus in some areas of the country.
International media reports confirmed that the Congolese team delegation is required to undergo a 21-day health quarantine in a closed center in Belgium before traveling to the United States, as part of precautionary measures established by the American authorities in coordination with the relevant health agencies.
In this context, Andrew Giuliani, the White House official responsible for the World Cup file, stated in remarks to ESPN that the Congolese team will be required to enter a "health bubble" in order to meet the necessary health conditions before traveling to American soil.
The American official added that any new individual joining the team delegation will be required to undergo a separate quarantine from the group, warning that the appearance of any potential symptoms in any member of the delegation could jeopardize the entire Congolese team's participation.
