Ounahi joined Girona last summer from Olympique Marseille, after a successful loan period with Greek club Panathinaikos, allowing him to regain his form and confirm his right to return to the European stage.

The midfielder of the "Atlas Lions" managed to score 5 goals and provide 3 assists in 22 matches in the Spanish league this season, and he was named Man of the Match on five occasions, outperforming notable names in La Liga such as Vinicius Junior and Raphinha.
