An Arab develops football ambitions in Portugal.
From the quiet village of Tounfit in the Midelt region, where dreams cling to the rocks of the Atlas and do not yield to the roughness of the road, Mohamed Arabi, a 19-year-old young man, set out carrying in his feet the talent of a striker who knows no hesitation, and in his heart the conviction that football could be a passport to the future.
Mohamed Arabi began his journey on the fields of Al-Rashad Sports Club in Midelt, where he honed his talent, then passed through the station of Raja Ain Chkaf in Fez, before the doors of professionalism opened for him in the 2025/2026 season with a contract with the Portuguese club FC Guarda.
The son of Drâa-Tafilalet did not settle for playing with the youth team; he broke into the first team lineup to contribute to its victory in the regional championship of the Portuguese professional league and the regional cup of the District da Guarda, an achievement that prompted the club's management to renew their trust in him with a professional contract extending to the end of 2027.
What distinguished young Mohamed Arabi was not only his goals but also his strict commitment to training and his respect for all team components, from officials and technical staff to players, both on and off the field; this earned him special respect as the only Moroccan in a team that includes players from Brazil, Colombia, Europe, and Africa.
Mohamed's story, coming from the depths of the Atlas Mountains, is not just a player's transfer; it is a message to every Moroccan youth in villages and mountains that talent, combined with discipline and silent work, can break through borders and turn dreams into reality.
Hussein Arabi, the young man's father, said that his son did not wait for opportunities to come ready; he created them with his sweat on the fields of Midelt and Fez, then clung to them in Portugal until he became part of the successes of a team he never imagined he would defend its colors.
The father of Mohamed added, in a statement to Hespress, that his son today stands as a living example that geographic origin does not determine destiny, and that determination, when coupled with humility, opens closed doors.
The same speaker added: “What he has achieved with FC Guarda in terms of titles and a contract extending to 2027 is just the beginning of a longer journey, confirming that the children of deep Morocco are capable of raising the flag wherever their journeys take them,” as he expressed.
A number of Mohamed Arabi's teammates agreed that the young man is not just a striker with a high scoring sense but is also a model of the modern player who understands that professionalism begins outside the green rectangle, noting that he is learning the language, listening to advice, and respecting his teammates regardless of their nationalities and cultures.
