Hakimi: The goal of the "Blacks" is to make history.
Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi stated that the Moroccan national team aims to achieve a greater accomplishment than what it achieved in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, emphasizing that the "Lions" now believe in their ability to compete with the world's top teams.
Hakimi confirmed, in an extensive interview with the French magazine "Onze Mondial," that the Moroccan national team will enter the next World Cup with great ambitions, noting that the current group is experiencing a period of confidence and stability after the historic journey it achieved in the Qatar World Cup.
The captain of the Moroccan national team added: "We have the World Cup competitions awaiting us this summer, and we will face them with full strength. The group believes in its capabilities, and we are working to deliver a great tournament as we did in Qatar 2022. Why not achieve better than what we accomplished there and go as far as possible? That is our goal."
Hakimi continued that the Moroccan national team does not wish to set a ceiling for its ambitions, affirming that what the players have shown in major tournaments has allowed Morocco to establish itself among the giants of world football. He added: "We set our own limits... Thanks to what we deliver on the field, Morocco competes with the top teams, and today I don't know where we might stop, and that makes it exciting."
The holder of the African Ballon d'Or confirmed that the new generation within the national team has a strong desire to make history, adding: "The Moroccan national team is full of ambition. We want to achieve great things every year to maintain our presence at the highest level... Our goal is clear, which is to write the history of football."
